Party to go

On any given Friday or Saturday evening a crowd of party-minded people can be found gathering on one of these. In the spirit of the biggest celebratory night in the US, here is one bus we all would love to see stop curbside for us -- when our own bus isn't available of course!

After hours of clubbing and toasting, what better way is there to end the night? Designated driving in the front...dancing (and more drinking?) in the back, only if you're 21 and over. No worries through the night, unless the bus runs out of of gas...

Happy New Year from The Bus Stop Game.

The Bus Stop Lounge

Idee / idea by lmproulx -

Do you have an affinity for bright ideas? Here is a why-didn't-I-think-of-that moment for you: in New Zealand, some unknown designer came up with the idea to transform a bus stop -- ooops...they call them bus shelters in NZ -- into a cozy outlet for getting your bookworm on.

Worn, rusty-colored couch aside...it's a cool idea, no? Unfortunately the local government doesn't think so. Reportedly, the scene will be removed and replaced with their usual benches. Hmp. Government is no fun...anywhere!  Click link and enjoy the scene while it lasts...

Throwback Thursday: If losing on a gameshow could be fun

We all want to win on The Bus Stop Game. We all want to win in life, period. But childhood competition should have taught us to know better: sometimes, somebody has to lose.

Wouldn't it be nice to lose to a cartoon mocking your butt? Enjoy this "Press Your Luck" mashup:

Waiting on patience

Time won't give you time, all of the time. Image source: public-domain-image.com
Ever tested your patience while waiting on a bus? Did you pass or fail with flying colors? You rushed out the house to meet the (insert time of arrival here) because you know that driver isn't waiting for your lazy butt. Yet, they expect you to understand how behind schedule they are. Hmp.

The problem is that we don't necessarily care about the bus' issues. We need to get to work, to school and to our favorite store ('tis the season for a sale!). These places aren't waiting for us, so how do we cope?

Learning patience will help ease the pain of being late. Sometimes when things are out of our control, we have to pull out of phones or -- better yet -- a book, and just roll with the delayed punches.

Got gas money? I am sure you can pay someone to pick you up and drop you off. If you're in the University Area....I'm just saying!

Play The Bus Stop Game. Chances are if you are in the city you will see the bus sometime in 2013. Might as well win some money while you're running late...especially if you lose your job due to tardiness. Ish happens...

Now if being late is a pattern, that's on you. The bus isn't running late every day.

Throwback Thursdays: "I'd like to buy a clue."

If there were ever a time where you wanted to yell your heart out at the screen, the time is now. Soon will you learn why it pays to stay in the know by a simple watch of the news, or reading a freakin' book.

Perhaps you should take a deep breath first to prepare for one of the greatest WTF moments in game show history. How on earth can they get on TV and I can't? (Newsflash: I cannot ride the bus...we're talking major conflict of interest.)

If you are related to the contestants in this clip, please take no offense but really...WTF?

I thought they were going to run out of time in the first segment. As for the second? Well...I feel embarrassed for her...over 20 years later!

Trivial persuits

Who knew that trivia questions would pay off? If you are lucky enough to be a contestant on The Bus Stop Game, you'll find out why learning should continue past graduation. Here are three ways to collect knowledge about anything:

Read. Reading is fundamental but to some, it's boring. Make it a part of your routine by picking up a newspaper while eating a hearty breakfast. The next time you find yourself waiting for anything, read an e-book on your tablet or smartphone.

Watch the History channel. Reality television offers a great dish for those who crave pop culture, but the History channel (when you're not watching The Bus Stop Game on FOX 18 or MyTV12!) offers insight on all things, popular or otherwise.

Pay attention to details. Study objects as you see them. Research the meaning behind your favorite songs. By going beyond the surface you are filling your mind with information that could change your life -- and your wallet.

By implementing these three tips into your schedule you will prepare yourself to win big with The Bus Stop Game.
